Whilst sad to leave Broome behind, we were at last ready to venture onwards and we hit the road just after 8am. The bitumen rolled by with a break for a delicious lunch at Fitzroy River Lodge. It was cooler in the Troopy than out so we were still sweating in the shade at Mary’s Pool where we stopped for the night.
