Fifty years!!

Saturday 9th March marked the 50th wedding anniversary of Cathy's parents - Mary and Graeme.

We planned a special afternoon tea with friends and family followed by a family dinner that evening.

It was always going to be difficult to get all 5 children back in Melbourne at the same time, but David managed to surprise mum and dad by flying in from NZ the night before and turning up to the party!

Phil had little baby Joshua to look after - and it's a much bigger journey from Mexico - so he sent a video with his best wishes that we were able to show. We also had the "sombrero on a stick" to represent him in the photos! He plans to visit later in the year.

Aunty Jane still had her bridesmaid's dress, which my cousin Anthea modelled as she stood in for her late mother in the reconvened wedding party.

It was a fantastic day with time to see many friends and family we hadn't seen for years. Cathy had been hard at work with preparations and was pleased to see the smiles on everyones' faces enjoying the day. She was also delighted to be able to present wishes from various dignitaries.

Tom did a brilliant job with the photography.

We have a few years to go before we can celebrate 50 years of marriage but are still happily "cleaved" together!
