Friday 17th July 2026 - Milan

After picking up my new passport, we went for a walk to Duomo to do the Terrace walk. 

And it was hot!!

The church requires repectful clothes which meant long pants.  For me, that's denim jeans.  It's been hot, damn hot. Jeans made it hotter, plus we were walking up/down stairs and along a hot roof.

After walking down off the roof, Cathy asks, "Where's your backpack?".  Sadly, it was still on the roof!!  In a wonderful display of love and consideration, she volunteered to fight against the one way traffic, back up several flights of stairs to retrieve it.

Did I say it was hot? The entrance to hell must be around here somewhere.

Duomo is truly spectacular.  Huge with marble statues and adornments on every surface and column.  Renovations have been going on for a long time.  You can see sections that have been fully replaced or updated.

After rubbing the knee of a character on the metal doors, we went to an Italian restuarant nearby.

Tomahawk Steak

Followed by some gelati and a trip back to the hotel via the Metro.
