Exploring Loch Lomond and the highlands with Rabbies tour - Sunday 31st March

It was an absolutely gorgeous day to explore the highlands of Scotland. Our small tour group of 12 people were skilfully taken to Loch Lomond, Inverary, Oban then through Glencoe highlands before returning to Glasgow 10 hours later. We were transported through villages and eras with a mixture of commentary, music and photo opportunies with dress ups!

I'll let the photos do the talking along with a few notes I jotted along the way to remember a few facts for you.

Paisley print came from city just near Glasgow

Pop 1.2 million in Glasgow and Edinburgh 550,000.

Singer sewing machines and ships built in Clydebank - a commuter town.

Heavily bombed in WW2 as ship building town.

Jackie Stewart born in little town we passed through - Milton

Loch Lomond great for fishing - contains Powon and rainbow trout.

Formed by a glacier and has islands. Wallabies brought across from Australia by Lady Caughie and still breeding.

Rest and be thankful pass at the top of a Glen where military road passes

Loch Fyan famous for oysters.

Inverary castle. Lord Campbell and Lady Cadbury live there with 3 kids who can say, "Dad owns a castle and mum a chocolate factory!"

Lochawe castle was struck by lightning in 1570 which ruined the back so uninhabited since then -I can't believe that lightning struck down a stone castle.

First stop at Loch Lomond. Such clear water. Dad - you would have loved the chance to go fishing for rainbow trout.

After a wee tasting, Alaok convinced me to buy a little bottle of gin from Inverary.

We had to stop where Harry Potter was filmed in front of the mountains named faith, Hope and Charity.

At the end of the day, it was back to my new accomodation in the centre of Glasgow inside the Anchor Line Building.
