Saturday 8th June - Soggy start to the day

Our plans to go from peak to peak on the gondola were somewhat clouded by the drizzly weather so we switched to plan B.

Cathy still got her run around Lost Lakes and made friends with another lady running around the lake (OK she thought it was a bear running across behind her and turned in fright, only to find another runner!) Breakfast was interesting as David found Special K looked more like Rice Bubbles and Cathy found 7 grains was a different version of porridge. There was a desperate shortage of coffee in the latte.

Plan B consisted of a visit to the local Canadian Aboriginal museum to hear about the Squamish nation and their traditions.

Then we had a stroll down the Whistler Village checking out the shops and hoping the clouds would lift. Unfortunately, the webcams showed that it was just as miserable at the top of the mountain so we didn’t waste our money on gondola tickets – we spent it on food instead.

The Rocky mountaineer was just as spectacular on the way down the mountain and we waved to the passers by on the side of the railway.
