Stelvio Loop - Monday 8th June, 2015

Today it was time for some serious riding. After fuelling up at breakfast, we met in the bicycle cafe all kitted up and ready to ride. There were photos and jokes as George did the briefing - then we were off. Today's ride climbed almost to the top of Stelvio before turning off to go to Switzerland and descend back into Prato, Italy for coffee.

Cathy made it up about 12 km, through all the tunnels, before jumping in the van, but David and the boys made it to the top.

Cathy joined them for the descent before she and John called it a day. It was an amazing descent through forests and fields with cow bells ringing as if it was the bell lap of a race. John opted for a snooze in the van!

Garry was the only Aussie to make it all the way up the back of Stelvio. As the weather closed in, only Garry and David joined the downhill demons heading back to Bormio. A long but fabulous day.
