Saturday Catch-ups 13th April - Galway and County Clare

Even on holidays we need time to stop, relax and catch up on life. So this was a day of catching up on news, doing the washing, adding a few days of entries in the blog and playing with the dogs.

Serena and I then went in to the city of Galway where we wandered around the market, had a shopping spree at Penney's then had a delicious afternoon tea at Cupan Tae. The 3 tiered cake stand held scrumplicious savories and sweets. Serena chose Dreamy Creamy Galway tea, whilst I enjoyed a pot of Seaside Ginger Berry tea.

Alaok, Poppy and Otto tried to pinch the sweet cakes on top that included things like courgette and lime cake with green tea frosting, current cake with creamy dreamy tea drizzle and more to make your mouth water. The surprise savoury that we loved was the sandwich with ham, sliced green apple and chutney. I wish the chutney had been on sale.

One of the shops we enjoyed was Flying Tiger Copenhagen. I bought a surprise bag for Serena who couldnt wait to get home to open it up and see what was inside!

Fergus came to collect us as it was raining by the end of our afternoon. We warmed ourselves up, then headed off to Broadford to visit Serena's parents and enjoyed more tea and biscuits. Yvonne and Tony came across form next door too and we had a happy time of catching up. Looks like the wet and windy weather has set in with a top of 7 degrees forecast for Sunday.
