Hawks reign in Launceston 19-21st April 2013
Cathy has been waiting for a weekend when we could get to Tasmania to see the Hawks play - and to catch up with cousins living there. Finally we found the perfect weekend and had a great time. We flew down on Friday night after work and stayed in town at the Hotel Charles. We met Andrew and his friends at the Royal Oak for a beer before the match. We enjoyed seeing the Hawks trounce Fremantle then Cathy touched the hand of Puopolo as he greeted the crowd on the boundary line. Buddy was in fine form and so much closer to where we were sitting. Dinner at Sporties was delicious!
On Sunday Cathy managed a long run up zig zag hill and down then around the Cataract Gorge. The afternoon was spent with cousins in Evandale. The kids created a cubby house and played outside whilst the adults admired Andrew's new BMW bike and chatted away over a nice glass of pinot.
David resisted the temptation to ride - but enjoyed a sit on the motorbike. Eventually we had to fly home ready for a week of work - but it was fun to get away.
