SMA Gala Dinner - a touch of purple

Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) is a devastating neurological condition that is inherited and leads to weakness and premature death. In its most severe form, babies usually die by 1 year of age. Cathy has cared for a few infants with the condition and become involved with the support association for SMA in Australia. She ran in their fun run earlier this year and got a group of friends and family together to attend their charity Gala Dinner. The theme was a touch of purple so we all got dressed up and had purple masks to wear on our table. One of the auction items was a helicopter flight for 4 people over the city so David managed to be the successful bidder and we look forward to that later this year.

Our Garden

It was a wonderful sunny Spring-like day, so after riding 115km on his bike, David finally got out to cut the lawn (it has hardly grown all winter). He was sweating away doing the edges when approached by a pair of wandering ladies.
"Your garden is beautiful" - slightly broken English, perhaps German.
"Thank You".
"Your wife is a very clever person."
"Errrr....yes she is" he says, going back to doing the edges.
